Exchange Quay’s 435,000ft² area stands as one of the largest office developments in the North West with more than 4,000 employees. As a result of the success and response to scheme designs of Building 8, Building 5, and Building 1, Jasper Sanders + Partners were invited again by Till AM to transform this 25,000 sq. ft facility into a series of interconnecting co-working experiences with serviced offices and premium amenity for Serendipity Labs.

With Exchange Quay being the first serviced office venture in Europe for the US brand, it was essential the spaces worked efficiently for delivering the same high-level service and peerless experience which resonates so highly with their clientele across the Atlantic.

Understanding the Serendipity Labs brand inside-out was key to creating an enhanced user experience that provided inspirational flexible workplaces, which combine state-of-the-art design, technology infrastructure and security paired with the highest standard of service. Through one-to-one meetings with the wider team in the USA, and with collaborative engagement with Till AM, the studio ensured the settings and spaces were effectively planned to deliver the variety of spaces required, from ground floor entrance arrival to first floor amenity and the upper floors of offices, this is all about a human-centric approach.

Cognisant of the US brand within a European market, JS+P maximised the use of iconic red highlighted within the Serendipity Labs branding through lighting, loose furniture and accent tones at ground floor and amenity level, creating a premium yet playful approach. Soft timber finishes and neutralised hues provided tonal contrast ensuring the co-working experience felt inviting and well-balanced throughout. Through implementation of the enlarged brand icon, internally illuminated and suspended above the Building 7 entrance, the presence of Serendibity Labs is highlighted loud and clear, while still working cohesively with the language of the wider Exchange Quay campus.
