We were approached by one of Manchester’s leading estate agents, homes4u, to design a new flagship branch on Deansgate. With their long term business strategy in mind, we realised this was an opportunity for them to stand out from the crowd in a world of mainstream and generic estate agency environments.

We challenged them to break the mould and purposely took a bold, retail driven approach, combining the latest technology with a welcoming open plan layout to revolutionise the home search experience; one perfectly suited to the needs of customers. This was achieved by replacing intimidating rows of desks with a central console of touch screen tablets, where customers can browse rental and sales listings at their leisure, as well as allowing staff to have open an dialogue and offer a side-by-side service.

Breaking away from the old-fashioned feel of mainstream estate agency to design a true customer experience for the discerning home buyer.

The spacious open plan interior incorporates several bespoke work settings, each one envisioned with a different use in mind, catering for varying group sizes and levels of privacy and concentration. This combined to create a unique and service driven experience that was tailored to individual customer’s needs. The result is a world away from traditional estate agency, achieved by replacing an administrative based office format with a vibrant and interactive retail experience that has set a new bench mark for the property sector.
