Equistone is a leading European private equity firm with a Manchester office located at 55 King Street in the heart of the city’s business district. Deemed to require significant upgrades to continue to perform effectively, JS+P were tasked with improving the overall experience for visiting guests and clients and optimising the workspace for the three partners and administrative executive.

The office required significant reorganisation, key to this was a new formal arrival space and meeting suite which clearly reflected the firm’s core values. To the office space, a range of work settings were introduced, comprising informal meeting zones and places to concentrate, a tea point with a ‘stand and work’ station and an open layout meeting space to enable partners and visitors alike to interact or work alone. The blend of activities provides a variety of work settings and creates an enjoyable and ordered workspace.

The completed design fully expresses Equistone’s corporate identity, creating an open, people focussed workplace through real materials, strong forms and a classic, timeless aesthetic. Through the reordering and organising of space, a more productive, efficient and enjoyable working environment has been created.
